The America I want To See
Dear Mr. Trump ,
I am an immigrant. I am an American and I vote.
In a world caught up in fear of Muslim terrorism, with proponents and detractors on the issue of refugee assistance, I’d like to offer the point of view from “one” immigrant.
I was born and raised in Italy under a catholic doctrine. I was baptized, studied catechism and received my confirmation like most other boys. When I became an adult I began to see the difference between how the church taught and how it acted. No amount of crosses and paraphernalia distracted me from the obvious: I was born illegitimate and had few rights, both from government and church. They even called me a bastard! I yearned for the land of the free since I was sixteen.
However, the indoctrination I received was one that revolved around the Judaeo-Christian faith. Both nuns and Jesuits – under whom I studied – and my family instilled in me some strong values that came to define my character and help me become a productive member of society. I was never taught to hate.
When I first left Italy and went to England and then to France I didn’t expect those countries to have documents or signs in Italian. I had to learn the language and assimilate into the culture. When I overstayed my student visa they threw me out of England with two weeks notice! When I applied to renew my American working visa, a zealous immigration officer in Anchorage, Alaska, threw me out with two weeks notice! Now we let everybody in, Spanish is everywhere we turn, and documents are translated in multiple languages. We have kowtowed to the immigrant!
When I returned to America, after a painfully long process that required I have a sponsor, I quickly assimilated within American society as I pursued my American dream. Neither my religion nor my education ever taught me or indoctrinated me to “hate America.” I am pretty sure the same applies to many other European or Asian immigrants as well.
Now here we have a Muslim society that uses its religious dogma to “indoctrinate” children to hate America!
In many European cities those children are now living in ghettos with parents who were brought there by humanitarian efforts but never made the effort to assimilate within the society. They got stuck among their own regardless of governmental programs instituted to help them. Resentment bred despair which, in turn, turned them into today’s terrorists. And many more will come tomorrow. Don’t fool yourself.
Multiculturalism with Muslims is now being declared by many European leaders as “unworkable.” In England and France and Belgium there are Muslim neighborhoods where even the police are afraid to enter! In Germany, England, Italy and elsewhere demonstrations against Muslim dominance are today’s fact, not fiction.
Any religion that does not tolerate any other religion but its own is a religion of bigotry and hate. It can only foment trouble. History is full of evidence that Muslims are and have always been bent on one goal and one goal only: world dominion; and their mentality is a mentality of centuries, not years! They have patience and determination.
Can you tell me of any other religion that has had the goal of world dominance as its core value ?
There have been wars over religion, yes: Crusades, Spanish Inquisition, you name it, but never for world dominance where religion becomes the ruler of all aspects of life. Religious wars were enacted to preserve one’s cultural faith and heritage, not to impose “it” around the world! Those who yearned to be free from that “imposed” faith sailed an ocean and founded America!
We must stop our political correctness and have the guts to return to our Judaeo-Christian faith. To return to God! We must stop being afraid to offend one group or another but stand for our Christian rights and not yield under the pressure. The Supreme Court does not have the right to impose a new liberty, such as the one imposed in Obergefell v. Hodges. The Supreme Court’s decision purportedly amends the constitutional law of the nation by adding a new liberty: the fundamental right of “personal identity.” Article V of the United States Constitution expressly provides specific politically accountable processes as the only means for amending the Constitution, including adding new liberties or fundamental rights. Supreme Court justices are not politically unaccountable to amend the Constitution and a “personal lifestyle” is not a right.
Wake up, America! How many more lost liberties, skewed morals and licentious merchandising, film and TV programs do we have to live with before we say: Enough! We are being indoctrinated ourselves by our own permissiveness. No wonder Muslims call us “The Great Satan!”
World War Three will be a war over religion! We can’t avoid it. Muslims will NEVER stop! We can only delay it by controlling the flux of Muslims and teach the new immigrant children the good values of life by assimilating them into our western societies; and if these are to be revolving around the Judaeo-Christian faith, on which this nation was founded, then keeping God out the public square only adds fuel to the embers till a roaring fire will consume us all.
But with God as our moral compass, Americans won’t have to worry about Muslim children being indoctrinated by Sharia law because they will have the same right to their prayers in school and elsewhere as all other children – and they will see the difference – but their prayers will never supplant the right of a Jew to pray, or a Christian to pray, or a Hindu to pray: they will learn tolerance and embrace love. And if their parents don’t like it, they are free to leave.
That is the America I want to see. Will I? I can only pray.
Respectfully,
