ATTENTION STATE CONVENTION DELEGATES:

The Michigan Republican Party State Convention is being held virtually on Saturday, August 29. The purpose of this convention will be to elect our party’s nominees for Michigan State Board of Trustees​, University of Michigan Board of Regents, Wayne State Board of Governors, State Board of Education, Michigan Supreme Court, and Michigan Electors to the Electoral College. This convention will work similar to the one that was held in June, in which delegates vote through text messaging. Furthers details will be made available soon and updated on this webpage. 

Congressional District Caucuses are also being held. The 3rd CD caucus will be on Monday, August 24 at 6pm via conference call. The 2nd CD caucus will be on Tuesday, August 25 at 6pm via conference call. 

You will be contacted by your District Chair via email with information on how to join the meeting. 

You should have received a letter in the mail from the Michigan Republican Party detailing the voting procedure for August 29. If you have any questions please contact MIGOP at (517) 487-5413.

STATE CONVENTION INFORMATION

We will be conducting our August 29th State Convention via virtual format. For transparency, we are inviting the Rules Committee, County Chairs, District Chairs, Convention Candidates (with a plus one), MIGOP Officers and Vice Chairs to the August Virtual Convention Broadcast.

Similar to our June Virtual State Convention, all delegates will be mailed and emailed a unique PIN number to the home address we have on file with a sheet of instructions that outline how to vote via text message on your smart phone. When voting opens on August 29th, each delegate will be able to access their ballot on their smart phone after entering the unique PIN number that was mailed to their home address and emailed to the email address we have on file.

Voting will close promptly at 2pm and will not be extended for delegates. The customer service number for incoming questions on State Convention day is the MIGOP Main line: 517-487-5413

Between 2-4pm, my staff will audit the names of those who did not vote and contact any alternates via text message, email, and phone to inform them that they have been elevated as a delegate in the order that was previously submitted to MRP by the District Chairs. We encourage all alternates to remain close to their phones throughout the duration of the day in order to answer any incoming calls, as they may be receiving crucial information about elevation. These calls may come from unfamiliar area codes.
