Paul Opsommer

Paul Opsommer

Paul’s political experience spans decades, with local, state, and federal campaign experience dating back to 1981. He served as the Vice President for Action Management Corp while also serving as the Mayor of DeWitt, Michigan.

Paul was the Director of Governmental Relations for Central Transport where he worked with federal and state leaders to promote programs and legislation that benefited the logistics industry.

Michigan’s 93rd District was privileged to have Paul serve as the State Representative from 2007-2012. Here, he received National Legislator of the Year from the Association of Mutual Insurance Companies, the Legislative Voting Record Award from the Michigan Chamber of Commerce, and the Legislator of the Year from the Michigan Municipal League.

John Wetzel
Candidate for State Representative District 84

John Wetzel

John, a lifelong resident of Michigan, hails from the city of Rockford where he attended Rockford High School. Continuing his education, he obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Business & Information Systems from the esteemed Grand Valley State University.

Following graduation from Grand Valley State University, after earning a Bachelor's Degree in Business & Information Systems, Wetzel joined the corporate world for a few years, including time with Alcoa Aluminum as an IT Systems Administrator. In need of a greater challenge, Wetzel ventured out and started his first small business.

Wetzel plans to bring this knowledge, hard work, determination, and a common sense understanding of the Michigan business climate to Lansing as State Representative of District 84 in the upcoming election.
