The City of Walker Memorial Day Parade takes place on Monday, May 27, 2024, at 12:00 pm.
The Memorial Day Parade has been a tradition in Walker for many years. Join us as we honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation.
Here are the details of the parade:
- Parade line-up begins at 11:00 am
- All entries (unless otherwise assigned) will enter through the west City Hall/Library entrance. We will have 2 checkpoints (for safety reasons) before you enter the staging area. YOU MUST STOP AT BOTH.
- We are in section 5.
- The drop-off point for additional walkers/riders participating in your entry will be via the west parking lot at Walker Ice & Fitness Center – see map for details. If you are an entry without any vehicles, please park in the west Walker Ice & Fitness Center parking lot and walk to the staging area. It is YOUR responsibility to let your group know.
- Remembrance Road WILL BE COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN at 11:40 am.
- The parade line-up is organized based on the information provided by participants at the time of registration. No unregistered vehicles will be allowed into the staging area (exception: dropping off disabled participants).
- The Memorial Day Parade will start promptly at 12:00 pm.
- Handouts (candy, flyers, etc.) are acceptable, but may not be thrown from a vehicle.
- No soliciting of signatures for any reason.
- If your entry has live animals (horses, cows, dogs, etc.), it is your responsibility to immediately pick up any animal waste.
- If you have multiple vehicles in your entry, please proceed with cars side-by-side along the parade route.
- There is additional parking at the church across the street from City Hall.
- The end point for the parade has changed to avoid backups. The parade will go past Walker Village this year down Remembrance ending at National Storage via the access road just past DeBartolo Realty. Please continue through the parking lot to avoid causing backups for the parade end.
