President Trump Offers Hope In Address To Congress;
Democrats Toss Decorum And Compassion Out The Window

KENT COUNTY, MI – Bold leadership, world peace, an affordable government that works FOR the people, safety in our communities, and the restoration of security after four years of failure at our borders – these were among the things President Donald Trump outlined in his address to Congress on Tuesday, highlighting the early triumphs and opportunities of an America-first agenda.

In response, Democrats held up paddles with signs like “False,” and sat on their hands, literally, even as the President introduced a young survivor of brain cancer who dreams of being in law enforcement, a volleyball player who was injured by a spike to the face from a transgender opponent, and the stoic family of a girl killed by an illegal alien.

“Frankly, we are disgusted that Democrats put politics above humanity and seemed more concerned with being heard and seen than with being compassionate or wise,” said Kent GOP Chairwoman Lynn Afendoulis. “We didn’t see our Democrat elected officials in Congress – including Rep. Hillary Scholten – buck their party’s antics and set an example of civility and bipartisanship, and we call on them to be courageous leaders, not lemmings.”

In his address, President Trump outlined his administration’s early victories to keep men out of women’s sports, ensure security at our borders and in our communities, cut billions of spending that is being used on absurd projects in far-away countries on the backs of hard-working American taxpayers, and make difficult moves for long-term economic gain and prosperity.

“Among the responsibilities of leaders is to nurture hope, and the Dems continue to fail miserably,” Afendoulis said. “At every opportunity, they turn examples of optimism and courage into despair. It won’t work because people who care about this country won’t let it. It’s not the American spirit.”
